Core Elements is a home based Pilates studio in Vaughan, 15 minutes north of metro Toronto. The founder, Phyllis Balshine, set up the studio in her home, after teaching in various studios and community centers. The studio is a quiet relaxing space where clients are able to take classes and really benefit from a calm atmosphere, while focusing on the Pilates repertoire.

Phyllis takes time to show you each exercise with precision and attention to posture. She also explains the breathing in detail. There is a focus on the breath, as it is truly what sets Pilates apart from other fitness techniques. The breath engages and strengthens your core muscles, giving you more stability and balance.

Whatever level you begin at, Phyllis encourages you to always listen to your body. So much can be gained from simple body awareness. Without pushing too hard, you can progress without injuries, work with any imbalances that you may have, and achieve a deep understanding of the work.
